Gas Prices are on the Rise

If you haven't noticed lately we want to warn you, prices at the pump are on the rise.

Over the past two weeks gas prices have jumped about 15 cents a gallon and they could go even higher as we get closer to summer.

Experts think pump prices could jack up to three-dollars-a-gallon this summer! If you think it has been costing more to fill up your gas tank, you're right. The Lundberg survey shows gas prices have jumped an average of nearly 15 cents a gallon in the past two weeks.

The average price of self-serve regular is just under $2.50 a gallon, up about 40 cents from a year ago.

16. New Jersey it is illegal to Self-Serve
But that is NOT the same as old Fashioned Full-Service. They just pump the gas instead of Checking your Tires and oil as is REAL old Fashion Full-Service.

7. If beer is close to 3/Gallon isn't it as much due to distribution..
just playing Devil's advocate but in the summer much more gas has to get delivered.

I've seen it at $2.99/gallon here already. I guess being it is .01 cent short of $3.00 a gallon that it doesn't count eh?

11. Twice this year gas has dipped below $2 and within a week it's up $0.50.
Hovering aroune $2.40 now.


And a new Hummer dealership was just built and opened recently.

I saw an ad in the local paper for one, an 04 supposedly "loaded" H2 for $17K. I about fell out of my seat. 2 years for a car to lose 2/3 of it's retail value?
Bet the Prius' are holding their values quite well...

13. i paid 3.29 a few days ago somewhere in CA
(just got back from a coast to coast roadtrip)

it was completely outside of the average i'd been paying. prices had jumped 20 cents the day before and it didn't surprise me at all to see $3+ a gallon.

with worldwide demand on a steady increase, prices will rise until supply matches demand. Prices will stop rising only until suppliers set a price that will avoid spot shortages. Shortages will cause the suppliers and refiners to lose millions by the minute.
