Miller's talk of 'lynching' is criticized
Edited on Fri Nov-14-03 09:36 AM by MGKrebs
snips:

"In a 2 a.m. speech during the Republican talkathon in support of President Bush's stalled judicial nominees, Miller made the comparison in describing the treatment of California Supreme Court Justice Janice Rogers Brown"

"...the Democrats in this chamber refuse to stand and let her do it," Miller said. "They're standing in the doorway, and they've got a sign: conservative African-American women need not apply. And if you have the temerity to do so, your reputation will be shattered and your dignity will be shredded. Gal, you will be lynched."

"I think it sums up the situation accurately."

So Zell thinks Dean's Confederate flag comment was bad, but he thinks using "lynched" is accurate.

That guys needs to just go away.

1. MIller Should Know About Lynchings
And coming from the "Old Democratic" Party, Miller would have a first hand view of what a lynching was all about, and how it was done.

Wouldn't he?

3. The thing is, he's a lame duck, so
it's not even his political life he is flogging, it is his book.

Thanks for the principled leadership Zell. Not.

5. $ Money $
Miller isn't going to run for the Senate again he wants to be able to make $ being the mouthpiece for the right when he leaves the Senate. He knows where the money comes from.

He will become another one of the tools in the right wingers tool box.
Miller's a sell out he's seeing those dollar signs.....he's a corporatist!
I think the party should kick him out he doesn't vote with the democrats anyway and we shouldn't give him the opportunity to be that tool either.

4. Can the party abandon him ?
I know he has stated that he will not switch parties. Is there any way the Democrats can say that they do not want him using the party name ?

I would much rather give them the seat instead of pretending he is on our side.

Cheers
Drifter

9. That's a good question.
You would think that a person who does the exact opposite of and routinely denigrates the "official" party platform , would be ripe for the picking.
As I see it, he is a festering liability for an already wounded and ineffectual party.

Tom Daschle isn't to far behind either.
Miller out, Dashcle out, Lieberman out.
Time to clean house and use some party bylaws to root out the rot.
I am so sick of these yellow dog democrats.
It's high time to get back to the concience of a liberal.

(((((((((RICHARD NIXON WAS THE LAST LIBERAL PRESIDENT))))))))

Say that to yourself a couple of times. Let it sink in.

7. miller gets worse every day.
I certainly hope that he was speaking on rethug time and not the Democrats. I look forward to his disappearance from the Senate, his replacement by a "real" rethug could actually be an improvement at this point.

8. he's guilty of another insulting stereotype
he just got done getting all outraged about what Dean said, but at some point in this stupid thing he said something about "Joe Sixpack in the Wal-mart parking lot." All this publicity he's getting just shines a light on how worthless he is.
