Will ask jury to condemn Moussaoui for 9/11 role

Former mayor Rudy Giuliani will try to convince a jury today to condemn Al Qaeda killer Zacarias Moussaoui to die for the 9/11 attacks.

Sources confirmed that the man who led the city through some of its darkest days will take the stand at the kickoff of the second phase of Moussaoui's 9/11 death penalty trial.

The jury of 12 agreed with federal prosecutors in a verdict Monday that Moussaoui is eligible for execution because he lied to the FBI about Al Qaeda's plans after his Aug. 16, 2001, arrest, and therefore helped cause the deaths of nearly 3,000 people on Sept. 11.

Now the U.S. will urge jurors that the destruction makes him worthy of lethal injection in the Terre Haute, Ind., death house.
