DeLay Supporters Crash Democrat's Event
By JUAN A. LOZANO, Associated Press Writer
April 6, 2006 09:58PM EST

SUGAR LAND, Texas - Supporters of U.S. Rep. Tom DeLay protested at an event Thursday held by the Democratic candidate for the congressman's seat, and the event quickly dissolved into a shouting and shoving match. Police were called, but made no arrests.

"I got pushed. I got hit. I got a sign wadded up in my face and my hat pulled down over my eyes," said Marsha Rovai, 69, a supporter of Nick Lampson. "They just did it to be nasty."

DeLay campaign manager Chris Homan said he organized the protest but DeLay, a Republican, didn't know about it.

But wait... there's more! Juanita's Blog has some juicy photographs of the stooges. And wait'll you read what a friend of Lampson, also a candidate for office, had to say about their hero, the honorable Congress-sleaze from Texas' 22nd District...

..... this two-minute hate thread. And note that FReepling " nypokerface" violated fair use and stole the entire article from AP, like a dutiful little intellectual property thief.

And to our surprise and delight at least one FReeper shows symptoms of sanity:

Fight fire with fire.

How is this fighting fire with fire? It's just juvenile and its uncivil. Tom DeLay has fallen a notch, as far as I'm concerned.

I don't like this sort of thing when they do it, and I don't like it when people on our side do it. I hate to see grown men acting like children.

couldn't agree more. That jackass with the air horn kept blowing it while the other dude was speaking. It was actually a little embarrassing to watch. Not to mention the fact that this was all going on during the day. I thought only Democrats don't have jobs and live on welfare, does air horn man have a job or is he milking some workers comp claim?

Are you freaking kidding me? When's the last time Democrats crashed a Republican campaign rally like a bunch of brownshirts? And no, some anarchist or Green Party member throwing a pie at Ann Coulter or displaying an AIDS banner at the GOP Convention doesn't count.

I think most Americans would be disgusted if it got even more coverage.

Remember the Republicans staff pretending to be Al Gore democrats and storming the recount...even rove knows americans don't want to be identified with this hooliganism and the attacks on senior citizens.

And delay making and ethics charge against Mckinney, unbelievable nerve!

First reaction of egotistical bigots, when they can no longer hide behind the lies, is to bully. Remember 3 or 4 out of 10 Americans are still delusional in their support for right wing BS. These are the hold-outs, those invested personally with the repug party. Expect more of this kind of stuff because these people actually believe the anti-liberal rhetoric, so they will feel personally threatened as their house of cards falls apart.

Yes, I know, logic is not their strong suit, but really. Tom DeLay RESIGNED. If they're angry at Tom, then they need to take it up with him. Nick Lampson had nothing to do with it. What purpose are they serving by disrupting Lampson's press conference?

It seems (to me, anyway) that FReeps can't hold a demonstration without it turning ugly and without putting their hands on someone. They don't have a leg to stand on as far as the issues at hand, so they have to resort to personal and physical attacks. I'd call them animals, but that would be an insult to real animals.

Of course, the headline in today's paper was, "Protesters heckle Lampson during news conference. DeLay's campaign staff organizes supporters' rally" ---------not, vicious-THUGS-brownshirt-opponent's-rally. And HOMAN said, "...he organized the protest through phone calls and e-mails, but Delay didn't know about it." Yeah, right.

44. like the recount mob in Florida 2000

Recount Rioters Rewarded With White House Jobs

Those who helped George Bush steal the 200 election have been richly rewarded with plum government appointments.

The Miami Herald reported that "more than 50 political appointees found by The Herald to have served as troops in the frantic Florida recount battle that followed the Nov. 7, 2000 election." Who can forget the "spontaneous" protest in the Miami-Dade elections office, coincidentally comprised of the staffers and employees of various Republican congressmen:

1. Tom Pyle, policy analyst, office of House Majority Whip Tom DeLay (R-Tex.).

2. Garry Malphrus, majority chief counsel and staff director, House Judiciary subcommittee on criminal justice.

3. Rory Cooper, political division staff member at the National Republican Congressional Committee.

4. Kevin Smith, former House Republican conference analyst and more recently of Voter.com.

5. Steven Brophy, former aide to Sen. Fred D. Thompson (R-Tenn.), now working at the consulting firm KPMG.

6. Matt Schlapp, former chief of staff for Rep. Todd Tiahrt (R-Kan.), now on the Bush campaign staff in Austin.

7. Roger Morse, aide to Rep. Van Hilleary (R-Tenn.).

8. Duane Gibson, aide to Chairman Don Young
(R-Alaska) of the House Resources Committee.

9. Chuck Royal, legislative assistant to Rep. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.).

10. Layna McConkey, former legislative assistant to former Rep. Jim Ross Lightfoot (R-Iowa), now at Steelman Health Strategies.

54. I'm posting before reading
so excuse any repeat on ideas.

DeLays CAMPAIGN manager? What is he running for? Is he really going to resign or is this a fishing (with dynomite) expedition? What is the status of his trial, if anyone knows.

He is such a sleaze. He huffed too much bug spray.

Good news:

Lampson Campaign Turning Over Footage to Woman who Claims Assault by DeLay Supporter
04/06/2006
Houston, TX -- Nick Lampson's campaign manager announced this afternoon that their campaign has found footage of a portion of the incident between Richmond resident Marsha Rovai and a DeLay supporter at the Lampson press conference held earlier today. Channel 2 News showed footage on their 4 pm newscast of a DeLay supporter grabbing Ms. Rovai's hat and jerking it down over her face. The Lampson Campaign recorded this footage and will be turning it over to Marsha Rovai. If we receive any more footage, we will turn it over as well.

"Whether or not this was an assault, it was certainly un-Texan," said Lampson campaign manager Mike Malaise. "People can protest without getting physical. The fact that these people chose to show up and get physical with a 69 year old woman is disturbing to say the least. Ms. Rovai will have to decide what she will do next, but Tom DeLay's campaign staged this protest and, as Marsha's Congressman, he owes her a sincere apology. As for our campaign, we are heartened by the fact that we have received several calls and emails from local Republicans saying they were embarrassed by what took place."

64. I've read that he intends to keep "running" until June so he can
take in enough political contributions to cover his legal fees for his defense. Apparently he's still light some bucks, and won't quit until he's stashed away enough money to pay his lawyers.

55. RW assholes love to stage fake outrage.
They did it in Florida in 2000 and it helped 'win' the WH for Bush and crew. Rs are repugnant, shit stains.
