Rising healthcare costs are dampening plans by U.S. businesses to hire new employees and give pay raises during the next six months.

1. The Good-bye to the middle class
and health care to needy Americans. The U.S. Government exists now for only military purposes.

2. I realized 25 years ago corporate America could not sustain . . .
the promises it had made to previous generations and that my generation would have to do things differently.

I don't know what the answers are but they won't be found among the Corpos. As a society, we can extract what we need from the Corpos but they won't provide it freely. It's like depending on a Corporation's beneficence to reduce pollution and clean up after itself -- it isn't going to happen. So I believe the sooner we look away from them for anything other than a tax base the better off we'll all be. As lovuian declares, We need Universal health care and we need it now.

3. Universal.....Yes...
But I don't think that is likely from the Federal level. It's time the states start to pick up the slack and something about this mess......

4. I detected a rise in my (retirement) heath care costs last month.
My monthly payments went from $106 to $277. Verizon sucks.
