Basra child mortality 'is rising'
Water-borne diseases and scarce medical supplies mean infants born in Basra are subject to abnormally high mortality rates, Saving Children from War said.

One Basra doctor said child mortality had risen by 30% since the invasion.

A US military internal report has described the overall situation in Basra as "serious".

The report defines "serious" as meaning an area:

* with "a government that is not fully formed or cannot serve the needs of its residents"

* where economic development is stagnant and unemployment is high

* where the security situation is marked by routine violence, assassinations and extremism

1. not to mention the horrific birth defects brought about by the
depleted uranium filthy bombs we've showered them with twice in the last 15 years. It's just appalling. Have any of you seen these pictures? Children born with organs outside of their body and the like. Every person with any regard for humanity owes it to themselves to look at these pictures. I warn you, however, not to do it on a full stomach.

This is even more relevant because our veterans are coming home, passing their contamination to their spouses and are beginning to see the same type of anomalous birth defects in their children.
