Schwarzenegger Has Appetite for Extremes
The mighty tycoon in "Citizen Kane" had a little wooden sled to remind him of his humble origins. Citizen Arnold Schwarzenegger (news) has the old M47 tank from his early years in the Austrian military.

That's just one example of the appetite for extremes that the new governor of California will bring to Sacramento, where he'll be sworn into office Monday. There, the tanned, Armani-clad action star will mingle and make policy with the rumpled suits of the state Legislature.

(snip)

These are a few — just a few — of his favorite things: a mansion in Brentwood; a ski lodge in Sun Valley, Idaho; a Boeing 747 he leases to Singapore Air; a small fleet of road-squeezing Hummers; a custom-made, $36,000 watch; Cohiba cigars; custom-crafted humidors; Indian Chief motorcycles.

The product most people identify with Schwarzenegger is the Hummer, the hulking military-designed sport utility vehicle that he helped popularize among civilians. He reportedly has five of the original designs and one new model Hummer H2.

(snip)

On the social scene, Schwarzenegger founded the Santa Monica restaurant Schatzi on Main — German for "sweetheart" — in 1991 with wife Maria Shriver, and regularly turns up for cigar nights there. According to an interview in Cigar Aficionado magazine, his usual brand of smokes are Cohibas and Montecristo No. 2s. Boxes of 25 can range from $350 to $500.

He also frequents the Grand Havana Room in Beverly Hills, a private club where he is one of hundreds with a personal cigar humidor built into the club's walls.

much, much more…

1. The Gropenator...............
smokes CUBAN cigars? My, my. How soon the Thugs forget all about their Cuban embargo when it come to their taste for expensive cigars. IMO Cohiba's aren't all they're cracked up to be. I'd much prefer a nice Arturo Fuente or Davidoff. Just goes to show you, Republican's taste is in their ass.

4. that's just plain silly.
my favorite legal cigars are padron anniversaries, the small ones, principe.

my favorite cubans (and they are magnificent) are romeo and juliet, partagas, cohiba lanceros and montecristo number 5s. you can't beat a really good cuban cigar. it has nothing to do with politics or legality... it's about the soil and the geographic location.

6. One can only hope he sinks them
I do remember the results out here in CA. The only true RW freak was McClintok and he lost, real bad. Repugs are not always embraced out here in CA. Both Bushes lost CA in their WH bids. CA just got a little star struck is all, we will settle down out here and do what is correct.

9. Yes, and the repig party
better keep in mind that many voted for the groper because they thought he wouldn't be that much of a repig. RWingers are not popular here except with a very small minority.
