Italy election fraudulent - Berlusconi
Italy election fraudulent - Berlusconi

ROME (Reuters) - Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi said on Wednesday the Italian general election had been hit by fraud and that official results giving victory to the centre-left had to be overturned.

Berlusconi, who has refused to concede defeat in the April 9-10 vote, told reporters the elections had been marred by "much fraud". Asked if the final result could change, the prime minister replied: "It has to change."

29. Berlusconi Appears To Back Off Allegations
... But Berlusconi later appeared to back away from his allegation of fraud, releasing a statement late in the evening in which he said that the very thin margin of victory "requires a scrupulous check to ascertain any possible error or irregularity."

"It is pointless to play with words and attribute expressions or accusations against someone," Berlusconi said in his statement, which was carried by Italian news agencies ...

8. Wow
This is how to throw your country into turmoil and chaos. So far I haven't heard a single anything specific about voter fraud. I have read one article that says the vote was legit. Berlusconi needs to admit defeat and move on.

26. He feels personally defrauded.
He spent all that money to rig the vote and he still lost.

"It's a curious situation that Berlusconi protests when he has in his hands all the control, all the transmission of the data, all the technical apparatus," Prodi said. "It means he doesn't trust himself, it's a kind of identity crisis."

Prodi, who has already been congratulated on his victory by several European leaders, was keen to present himself as prime minister-in-waiting and a 'good European'.

Go Prodi! What he just said!

That's gratitude for you.

This guy needs to go in a big way. With all the leverage of massive wealth and control, he still can't seem to force his will upon the people. That can only show that his view isn't in their best interest.
