Neocons disintegrating as we speak, says Sheehan

Well known peace activist Cindy Sheehan doesn’t have much good to say about Republicans. She’s voted the Democratic ticket for years. But she doesn’t have much good to say about Democrats either.

“Most are very spineless,” she says. “They must be challenged to stand up for progressive values.”

Sheehan, 48, voted for Al Gore in the 2000 elections and for John Kerry in 2004. But she won’t vote for a pro war candidate, even a Democrat, again.

This is really very simple. It's not like John Kerry was picked by a smoke filled room of powerful fat white men at the Democratic National Convention. This is not 1924. We have direct primaries now, meaning that rank and file Democrats pick the nominee. It's all fine and good blame DLC hacks and party regulars, but some blame must be assigned to Democratic primary voters who vote for these people. Especially the "professional voters" in the Iowa caucus and New Hampshire primary.
