Donations for a Congressman, Profits for His Wife (Doolittle R-CA)
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/04/15/AR2006041500885.html?nav=hcmodule

On Capitol Hill, there is widespread agreement that the annual congressional salary of $165,200 just does not go far enough on today's dollar. The clamor for ethics reform will likely make things tougher, forcing congressmen to pick up lunch and dinner tabs and pay their own way to Redskins games.

One enterprising member of the House, Rep. John T. Doolittle (R-Calif.), and his wife, Julie Doolittle, have found an innovative -- and apparently legal -- way to boost the family salary. When Rep. John T. Doolittle, right, receives political contributions from UPS's PAC and others, his wife, a fundraiser, gets a share of the money. (Www.house.gov/doolittle)

Julie Doolittle has set up a fundraising company, Sierra Dominion Financial Services. Two of her clients are John Doolittle's campaign committee and his leadership PAC, the Superior California Federal Leadership Fund. Julie Doolittle's company gets 15 cents of every dollar raised by her husband's political committees.

snip

Overall, in the 2005-2006 election cycle, according to PoliticalMoneyLine, Sierra Dominion has collected $82,127 from the Doolittle committees. That is already ahead of the $77,947 in commissions in the 2003-2004 cycle, even with nine months to go until the election.

3. Thery pay DEM congress-critters the same, right?
And they do a lot of fundraising, too, right?

They're ALL scum.

Sorry, I'm just not feeling very charitable towards those who are struggling to get by on more than $100,000 these days...

5. The longer this story drips out the weaker his support is becoming
it's a pattern in the ltte's in the local paper. If he was re-elected i wouldn't be surprised at all, his district is a small red state.

8. My poor die-hard Dem parents live in that district.
They're doing all they can to get him out, but are not particularly hopeful. He's Delay's lil buddy- Do Little and Delay.

7. Corruption, a confirmed republican family value.
Integrity obviously is not held in high esteem at the Doolittle cess pool.

9. The hell with ethics and morality when it's legal
and it's legal because they own the House, Senate, Executive, and Judical...You know what I mean, Vern?

Here's a LTTE that was published in the Sacramento Bee in response to a bombastic interview he submitted to. It appears his base is starting to question him:

Doolittle says he has done nothing wrong. Let's review some facts: Doolittle has taken large contributions from defense contractors whose products he pushed in Congress. One of these same contractors has been indicted for bribery of another congressman. Doolittle was brought into the House leadership by Rep. Tom Delay and acted as DeLay's right-hand man. DeLay has been reprimanded three times by the House Ethics Committee and is under indictment in Texas. Doolittle became personal friends with lobbyist Jack Abramoff, took large sums of money from Abramoff's clients and his wife became a business associate of Abramoff. Now Abramoff is the center of the biggest lobbying scandal in decades.

Did Doolittle break the law? We don't know yet. Is he for sale? Clearly.

12. Doolittle obviously talks to certain animals: rats, weasels,
cockroaches. All the Good people of Sacremento should know that their congress critter was bought, paid for and his mortgaged soul was a free gift with purchase.
