Stop threats, N. Korea tells U.S
SEOUL, South Korea (AP) -- North Korea said Sunday that it is willing to abandon nuclear development when the United States discontinues what it called a hostile policy and eliminates "threats" against the communist country, a South Korean news agency reported.

The vaguely worded remarks by an unnamed spokesman for North Korea's Foreign Ministry were carried by the communist state's official KCNA news agency, and were monitored by Seoul's Yonhap news agency.

3. I'm no fan of NK either
But grouping North Korea into the same group as Iraq and Iran labeled "Axis of Evil", (never mind an axis only has two poles), then invading and occupying one of the countries in that group is a huge threat! I don't like the NK govt. in the least, but I can see why they are doing what they are doing at the moment!

4. Threats? What threats?
It is like scaring a hedgehog with a bare butt. NK has some 10000 special forces troops only. They have some 10000 pieces of arty. They are in no way comparable to Iraqi army and certainly no pushovers. Bush can only wage war with NK with the help of nuclear strike, but that would involve China and Russia as close neighbors and victims of fallout. If Bush wants to kill his chances for re-selection, he might do it.

5. Agree in part
War with N.Korea would involve war with China. But the N.Korean military would fare worse than it did in the first year of the Korean conflict. I'm afraid they are a pushover. No food, no fuel, no vehicles, no air power, obsolete weapons.
