Holding Steady Bush Administration Gets a Break From the Polls
http://abcnews.go.com/sections/politics/US/bush_poll_031117.html

Nov. 17— Public views of the war in Iraq are holding steady in the face of stepped-up guerrilla attacks and mounting casualties, and President Bush's job approval rating has stabilized as well — a respite for the administration at a sensitive political point.

According to an ABCNEWS/Washington Post poll, Bush's overall job approval rating stands at 57 percent, about the same as it was in late October and fairly stable since July. Bush's approval rating for handling the situation in Iraq is a good deal lower — 48 percent — but this, too, has steadied.

Those are positive results for the White House given that the last few weeks have been some of the deadliest in Iraq since the war started in March. So is the fact that 62 percent of Americans say U.S forces should remain until order is restored, despite the casualties.

5. While I loathe Bush and pity the oxygen that has to enter his lungs
I also think that we can't leave Iraq without establishing some form of order. It doesn't have to be 100% pro-America (far better if it isn't), but it does have to be 100% Saddam-free.

2. ABC & WA Post have to stop asking the same White House staffers
what they think of Bush*s job persormance.
Get out and ask Americans who are affected by his policies.
Ask the parents of the 100 thousand plus troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Ask just one hundred of the 10 million out-of-work Americans.
Ask the Americans on Medicaid who have just been sold to the Pharmaceuticals by Bush how good a job the Shrubster is doing.
Ask the loved ones of the dead and wounded from Afghanistan and Iraq how well Bush is doing on his war on terror. Guarantee their anonymity like you do Kovaks traitor who outed Plame and you'll get true results.
Ask Bush where Ken lay is.
Ask Bush where Osama binLaden is.
Ask Bush where Saddam's WMD are.
Ask Bush where American jobs went.
Ask Bush if the economy is soaring, where are the jobs?
Ask Bush if all americans can have the same medical plan he has.
Ask Bush where he was when he deserted the Texas national guard.
Ask Bush, is the rape allegation true?
Ask Bush What did you know on Sept 1st 2001?
Ask Bush When god spoke to you and told you to smite Al Qaeda..Did you answer the voices?
Ask Bush: what is it like to grow up being a coward having daddy straighten out your screw-ups.
Ask Bush: How do you think you'll win florida THIS time?

3. What about the USA Today/ Gallup poll that came out today?
That had Bush's overall approval rating at 49%, curiouser because Gallup usually has better numbers for Bush than everyone else.

Could it be that these polls are largely a crock of shit?

4. Statistics
It has to do with the inaccuracy of polls in general. It's not that they're a crock of shit. But when they say the margin of error is +/- 4% what they mean is that 90% of the time that they ask the same question they expect to come within 4% of the result they reported.

12. Yes.
Several polls out in the last week directly refute these results. These polls are crap and only prove one thing, these media outlets DO have an agenda and it ain't the People's.

the guy is fading fast, fuck abc for trying to prop him up!

9. It could be the touting of the GDP at 7+%
When that falls thru I think his numbers will follow. Think about it, he said he was pulling troops out of Iraq, that will win over a few sheep Dems and pro-peace types, the economy had 1 good month so far and that will win over a few jobless or barely employed sheep, the AARP came out today and gave its support to the prescription med buying plan, that will influence a few old sheep. add this up and his numbers quit falling, take any of that away and they fall again.

Personally I am working the religious angle on some people at work. They believe he is a good President because he used the best information available before the war because he is a Christian and he uses Christian idas to run his administration. That lie and myth needs to be exposed.

The war on terra has always been his only strong point in the polls, not the "E"conomy, not "E"ducation, not the "E"nvironment not anything that starts witht the letter "E". So when the war on terra starts to fall thru he has to pick up some support elsewhere. Imagine if he was still running his presidency like he was on Sept 10, but not having a war on terra. His approval ratings would be in single digits.

14. Look, the poll numbers are just as fair and balanced
as the factual content of the "news" networks that commission the damn polls. In other words, you can trust the ABC/WP poll numbers about as far as you can trust their news judgement.

Can you smell what the Post is cooking?
