Father welcomes Hicks ruling (Gitmo Detainee)
http://www.heraldsun.news.com.au/common/story_page/0,5478,19054697%255E1702,00.html

THE father of Guantanamo Bay detainee David Hicks has welcomed news his son has won the legal fight to become a British citizen.

The British Court of Appeal has refused further appeals from the British Home Office on the Hicks case, a Melbourne newspaper has reported.

This means the Home Office, which has lost twice to Hicks's legal team, must resume the process of declaring Hicks to be a British citizen.

Mr Hicks said the news did not mean David automatically received British citizenship, as he had to be sworn in, a task frustrated by US moves to deny British representatives access to his son.

"At this time the Americans are making it as difficult as they can," Mr Hicks said.
