Former Gov. Cecil Underwood Disavows Hiram Lewis Campaign Mailer

The following statement was issued on Saturday, May 6, 2006, by former Gov. Cecil H. Underwood:

�It has come to my attention that a mail piece distributed by the Hiram Lewis U.S. Senate campaign includes a photograph of me with the candidate.

�Voters must not construe this as an endorsement from me for Mr. Lewis. It has been my longstanding policy and practice not to endorse in a contested Republican primary.

�I call on Mr. Lewis to make clear that his use of an old photograph, taken years ago, was never intended to be used for political purposes.�

1. Ick...that guy just LOOKS slimy

His picture screams "I am a repuke politician." Byrd is hardly a favorite of mine, but I would vote for him just so I would not have to look at that guy.

3. cecil underwood is as crooked as they come

leave it to hiram to want to be associated with him. cecil is also a party-line hack and is backing the GOP/NRSC pick of media mogul John Raese, who will slant the coverage on his radio and tv stations in the state against Byrd. This race is going to be the nastiest in the country. Raese has a history printing and broadcasting dishonest garbage and he'll swamp the airwaves with smears against ol' bob
