Congressmen seek inquiry into limo co used to ferry officials to Watergate
http://www.rawstory.com/news/2006/Congressmen_seek_inquiry_into_limousine_company_0508.html

'Not interested' in prostitution, but how contract was awarded

The ranking Democrat on the House Homeland Security Committee and the ranking Democratic member on the House Subcommittee on Emergency Preparedness have called on the Homeland Security Inspector General to conduct an inquiry into the Department's arrangement with a limousine company that was used to ferry members of Congress and other officials to the Watergate Hotel, where poker parties and prostitutes were allegedly made available, RAW STORY has learned.

While the congressmen say they are "not interested" in accusations the company was complicit in prostitution deals, the last line of their letter requests "the dates, times of use, and the names of the officials" who made use of the vehicles.

The letter to Homeland Security Inspector Richard Skinner, from Congressmen Bennie G. Thompson (D-MS), Ranking Member of the Committee on Homeland Security, and Bill Pascrell, Jr. (D-NJ), follows.

1. Seems like a reasonable request.
So you can be sure the Republicans will stonewall and obstruct that line of inquiry.

16. As we found out
Clearly not training personnel for evacuating large cities during a disaster, or developing proper communications protocols for working with states and localities.

3. Why is Homeland Security ferrying congressmen to poker games?
Something seems a tad weird here.

6. Maybe they took their cue from the Secret Service providing rides...
for the twins' drunk friends:

From March 5, 2001
The Secret Service - It would appear that the Secret Service have acquired yet another new role under George W. Bush. Along with protecting the president and busting down the doors of junior satirists (see Idiots Week 6), they are also required to pick up underage alcoholics from the local drunk tank. After the recent TCU booze-up, Jenna Bush's "boyfriend" William Ashe Bridges (Nash to his friends) was thrown in jail for public intoxication. Four hours later, Secret Service agents showed up in a black Chevy Suburban, bailed him out, and give him a ride home. Now this may seem an unusual way of spending the public's tax dollars, but think about it - bearing in mind this guy's connections, it's entirely possible that the Secret Service were just protecting our future president! Nash Bridges in 2032!

7. I'm beginning to think that
the GOP had DHS so fully funded (over funded) as to provide a slush fund.

If a thorough review was ever possible, I'm sure we would find more irregularities.

11. I don't think that's what's being suggested.
I think what is suggested is that the company DHS was using to transport its employees around DC is the same company that was involved in the Cunningham/MZM/hookergate troubles.

4. I'm betting those limos had special features.
Vibrating backseats, wetbar, and little camera's that recorded everything for those certain moments when you need that extra vote on the Appropriations Committee.

13. Were the congressmen weak links?
Did someone want to get something on them? I've read about gambling invites used as ways to tap into human weaknesses and get control. Like giving out samples of crack, if they succumb you can have them by the short and curlies pretty soon. Same goes for sex.

What info is there on the names of the guys who were transported in those limos?

15. Duke Cunningham may be one. And Porter Goss was a Congressman
back then. The original stories on this stated that members of the Intelligence Committee. Porter Goss was on the Intel. Committee. If those stories are true, we'd have to check back and see who else was on the Intel. Committee ~ I don't know if Duke Cunningham was a member of the Intel. Committee.

Duke was a heavy-hitter for the GOP on both Intelligence and Appropriations committees. Makes ya think.
