Bush meets Chinese activists on religious freedom
May 11, 2006

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Bush met on Thursday with Chinese activists who said afterward that he had pledged to raise the issue of religious freedom with Chinese leaders in the future.

Bush met at the White House with Yu Jie, Li Baiguang and Wang Yi -- Chinese Christian dissidents who have criticized their government's controls on religion.

When Bush visited Beijing in November, he attended a service at a government-registered church. He also raised religion at a White House meeting with Chinese President Hu Jintao in April.

...

The Chinese activists said that they had a prayer with Bush, Vice President Dick Cheney and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice before the meeting ended.

2. Freedom of religion does not include recognition of marriage of
two person's of the same gender - freedom isn't always the same from person to person

6. Different religion
The protester was a practitioner of Falun Gong. The ones Shrubby met were probably Christians.

8. I think junior ought to call in those five Iraqi businessmen that had one
hand cut off, (Saddam caught 'em cheating) to help get this circus off the ground. Can't forget the Terri Schiavo family that the WH fought so hard for, can we?

10. Bush worships Mammon....
Just claims "Jesus" for the consumption of the blind masses.

By his fruit should he be judged, not his words.

Peace

11. LOL....*Only* Christians?
I bet Bush supports the Chinese government's attempts to suppress the practice of Islam, which is by far much more prevalent in China than the practice of Christianity.

12. Why don't the Christians see right THROUGH Bush & repubs?
It amazes me that so-called devout Christians think that Bush and all the repubs are somehow champions of their religion, when it is well documented that the entire republican machine lives and breathes on the money from sending our jobs and money overseas to CHINA, a country that discriminates against religions. How can they justify supporting our government and our country being held hostage financially by loans from a communist country that controls religion, because Bush fucked up our economy so badly with his ill-fated tax cuts and war??? How can they sleep at night knowing that christians are jailed in China, and their personal savior BUSH is okay with this??

Because most of them are frauds. They use the christian label to justify supporting Bush, when it's clear to everyone that repubicans care about one thing and one thing alone: MONEY. even tho the repubs are famous for screwing up the economy.
