Limestone teacher loses job (showed students inappropriate Internet clips)
ATHENS — During a meeting that lasted about 4½ hours, the Limestone County school board voted to dismiss a teacher accused of showing his students sexually themed Internet videos.

Soon afterward, a state Democratic Party official said Steve White also could be removed from the ballot in the upcoming election in which White is a candidate.

----cut-----

Among the board's findings leading to its canceling White's contract was a charge that he showed students an Internet clip depicting a former president and his wife engaged in sexual activity. Another charge was that he showed students a computer image of a girl exposing a breast.

----cut----

White has been on paid administrative leave since April, when parents and students said he showed his students an animated Internet video about former President Bill Clinton, which included sexual content, and made students say "John Kerry rocks" before they could leave his classroom.

3. Sorry
He should be fired.
Teachers are not allowed to engage in partisan politics on school grounds -- which he did.
He shouldn't have shown the images from the internet. Especially since he probably did not inform the parents before hand.
It seems like he was trying to get fired.

9. Good riddance!
In college that could fly, but in highschool, no way. The part about "Kerry rocks," now thats just stupid. Kerry's a stiff politician, and you can't force student to say your opinion. That would piss me off if he was my teacher, and I would probably wouldn't have lasted long in his class. "Vote Kerry 08." Say it before you leave, now goddamit! or Gore, your choice.

10. I expect this kind of behavior from a kool-aid drinking pub...
It should not come from one of our own, and a school teacher to boot. Very shameful. Desgraciada!
