Sprint Nextel sued over NSA charges
Sprint Nextel Corp. is the latest phone company to be targeted by a class action lawsuit seeking at least $1,000 in damages for each person whose call records may have been given to the government.

The suit, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Kentucky by the Mason Law Firm, follows similar suits filed against AT&T Inc., BellSouth Corp. and Verizon Communications Inc ..

Sprint also hasn't confirmed or denied the reports. The company said it has no comment on the recent news stories, but that it is dedicated to protecting its customers' communications and complies fully with the law ..

2. That's why I went with Cingular
Today, I cut off my AT & T phone and went totally wireless with Cingular. They're the only ones still unionized.

8. AT&T owns Cingular and SBC
BellSouth, Verizon, Sprint/Nextel are all their own companies...

Most of the cell phone companies share Cingular's GSM network though so large companies (as well as small local GSM companies such as Einstein PCS in Northern WI) like US Cellular, Alltel, T-Mobile and Verizon all share AT&T's owned network.

AT&T rents that network out to those other companies so technically AT&T does own the cell phone business.
