Mrs. Bush Tells Grads Not to Ignore World
May 20, 2006

BRISTOL, R.I. (AP) - :spray:

This year's college graduates are faced with problems that lie beyond the nation's borders, because disasters elsewhere can't be ignored in a world so interconnected, first lady Laura Bush said Saturday.

"You can't neglect millions of people around the world living under tyranny," Bush said, mentioning the genocide in Darfur, Sudan, during her address to 900 graduates of Roger Williams University. She also pointed to the challenges posed by the tsunami in Southeast Asia.

"With your dedication to others, you'll always have a big impact on the world, and you'll find happiness along the way," she said.

The first lady spoke of a program that provides college scholarships to Afghan women, created after U.S. forces invaded Afghanistan and overthrew the Taliban following the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks.

2. Anytime she opens her trap
I get ill.

"You can't neglect millions of people around the world living under tyranny,"

Oh puleeeeeze.

How about the millions of people here in the good old FSA (Fascist States of America)?

Ignorant and self-serving.

Those words describe her best.

10. Yeah, and no word about any of these Grads asking her why...
... she and her chimp ignored (and still ignore) the Gulf States before, and after Katrina. And no word about how the rest of the world did not ignore them.

9. You're being too nice to maroons.
This woman is probably the most shallow woman, and the most dependent on a man,to exist as a first lady.

6. Her husband withdrew funding for birth control
The first lady is a bitch who is against women's rights. She knows that those women must be out there giving birth to fill mimimum wage jobs so she can continue her elite life style. The GOP sicken me.

8. Bush quit funding of all birth control aid.
He evidently has no problem with casting third world women into a world of poverty/death. He's heading that way for our women. Falwell and Roberston are grinning ear to ear. Keep those women barefoot and pregnant and submissive to men. If they produce children, let's stick them into minimum wage jobs. They need to be punished for the immorality of their parents. Let them feed the rich and be thankful for the opportunity. The W way.

14. You're right. I nearly forgot about that.
Laura need not worry. The college graduates today and for many generations to come will have no choice but to not ignore the world. The survival of our species will be their burden to bare. Global warming will lead to increased natural disasters and the introduction of new diseases as well as the extinction of plant and animal species. And the mess in the middle east will be "their" problem someday.

Laura needs to be reminded that her husband knowingly and willingly exacerbated and intensified all the national and global problems we'll be handing to our children and grandchildren. He has put them in harms way on so many levels and in so many ways and I will never, ever forgive him for that. I may never forgive the people who voted for him either.
