Iraqi man chosen to lead Qaeda’s global operations
The al-Qaeda organization has selected Abdulhadi al-Iraqi, an Iraqi national from northern Iraq, as the new commander of its global operations.

The appointment comes following the seizure of Abu Faraj al-Libi by Pakistani forces in May. Al-Qaeda has a large following in Iraq particularly among Sunni Muslims. It operates through different organizations under various nomenclatures.

Hundreds of Iraqis are believed to have joined al-Qaeda in Afghanistan and many of them had returned to Iraq to fight the regime of Saddam Hussein.

But when U.S. troops invaded Iraqi in 2003 and toppled Saddam, they turned their guns against the occupiers, transforming Iraq into a battlefield to settle scores with Washington.

3. Nothing in your article has any bearing on the above article
And, the head of the London bombers has been to Pakistan many times, just because they don't know if he was in contact with anyone there doesn't mean he wasn't.

2. What the hell is this?
This article makes it sound as if al-Qaeda is a publicly traded company listed on the NYSE.

The tone of the article is just so bizarre. It's like some alternate universe where Blomberg's reports on terrorist organizations.

By the way, what's al-Qaeda trading for today? I wonder if my broker would list it as a "buy"?

5. They post the promotion notices in the 'Movers and Shakers' column...
...in the business section of "Al Hayat". Apparently.

I've wondered about that myself...

11. LOL...
I was reading it and thinking the same thing...it reads almost exactly like those 'corporate' bribes to the media where they take out expensive ads in the weekend finance sections to announce that:

Osama Bin Laden, President and CEO of Al-Queda Inc. is pleased to announce the appointment of Abdulhadi al-Iraqi as Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer of operations in Iraq.

Abdulhadi al-Iraqi comes to us after a successful tenure with Al-Queda Inc's, subsidiary Holy Jihad PLC, where Abdulhadi managed to use his talents and leadership and produce 7 consecutive quarters of growth.

Abdulhadi al-Iraqi is married with 3 children and received his Masters in Business Administration from Wharton specializing in systems analyst, bomb-making, etc etc..

6. Which #2 was he?
We've killed, captured, or cornered so many #2's and #3's that it is hard to tell them apart without a score card.

8. Does he get stock options?
Who "chose" him, and how did they go about it?
Can the person or persons that "chose" him remove him?
They make it sound like the al Qaeda board of directors picked a new CEO.
We should call him "Abdulhadi al-Iraqi bin Goldstein".
Who writes this drivel anyway?
