City (Cleveland) Layoff Announcement Expected Monday

CLEVELAND -- NewsChannel5 has learned that Mayor Jane Campbell will announce on Monday how many safety force workers will be cut. The proposed cuts will affect firefighters, police officers and emergency service workers. Campbell said the city doesn't have enough money to continue operating at its current level.

Rumors recently began circulating that 415 police officers, 235 firefighters and 52 EMS workers could be laid off by Dec. 23.
