Bush directs outreach on Gitmo suicides

WASHINGTON (AP) - President Bush expressed "serious concern" Saturday over the suicides at the U.S. military prison at Guantanamo Bay and directed an aggressive effort by his administration to reach out diplomatically while it investigates.
"He wants to make sure that this thing is done right from all points of view," White House press secretary Tony Snow said Saturday evening.

Bush, who is spending the weekend at Camp David, was notified at 7:45 a.m. EDT.

Snow said it was during his daily intelligence briefing just afterward when the president voiced his concern over the incident and directed that the bodies be "treated humanely and with cultural sensitivity" to show respect for Muslim traditions regarding the dead.

4. "Treated humanely," huh?
Does that mean they can't give the old thumbs up/point thing in post-mortem photographs? It's pathetic that order even had to be given.

9. If Bush gave a dam, he would give them trial dates.
EVERYONE knows Bush hates common living people. He even thinks less of 'terrorists'.

10. Bush's "serious conern" is more bad press and more static from our allies
in the "War on Terror." George Bush is talking damage control.
Otherwise, everything at Gitmo is correct and necessary he insists.

This is a disaster and BushCo must have seen it coming.
