Colorado Republicans demand special session on illegal immigration
DENVER (AP) - Republican lawmakers asked the governor to call a special session Tuesday in hopes of overturning a state Supreme Court ruling that disqualified a proposed ballot issue to deny most state services to illegal immigrants.

Governor Owens has a news conference scheduled for 2:30 p.m. to address the request.

2. Hope they love being the cockroaches in the light..
That's exactly what they are doing.

:eyes:

No wonder why Pukes are about to lose in '06 and beyond, permanently entrenched in a minority status for 100,000 years and beyond.

3. Don't bet on it.
IMO, they know exactly what they are doing. A huge majority of voters favor the GOP Congressional approach to immigration, not the Bush-Democrat approach. IMO, the Democrats are on the wrong side in this debate. We should be favoring American labor, and fighting to stop the flood of illegal immigrants first, before considering any form of legalization.

Republicans have nothing left to run on. Iraq, out of control spending, huge budget deficits, a stagnant economy...they sure as hell don't want to run on these issues.

But I can sure as hell hear the commercials now-

Angie Paccione thinks illegal immigrants should be given amnesty. Marilyn Musgrave thinks we should uphold the law.

Immigration is their issue in 2006. If the election hinges on immigration, Democrats will lose badly.

4. Immigration and Gay Marriage.
How many Gay Ballot issues are there? Is there an abortion item too?

I'm glad Frederico Pena came back to the political world for this. I hope he cleans Dick Lamm's clock.
