Rumsfeld Pushes U.S.-Backed Satellite TV in Iraq

and some other mind numbing Murikan TV programs, starting with MSNBC, FOX and sadly CNN.

By seizing the all the megaphones of the media, then drowing out the voices of reason with the lying trumpet blasts of The Mighty Wurlitzer.

You know that movie "The Matrix"? That was an idea who's time has come because now we are surrounded by an Orwellian lying reality.

But I don't think the Iraqis are as susceptible as the Imperial Subjects of Amerika. Saddam did that same thing to them, although without the "production values" and the sophisticated marketing tachniques.

You see, one thing that allows the Party-Loyal Right-Wing Sub-Media and Corporate TV Pravda to so successfully lie to us is that we, born during the Days of the Old Republic, cannot conceive that our media could be turned by an unscrupulous few into a BIG LIE MACHINE.

It is an old adage of advertising and psychology that the person most difficult to psychomanipulate are the people who are aware they are being manipulated.

Well, like the Soviet citizens of the 1980s and the Iraqis, they were BORN pretty much knowing they were being manipulated and lied to by the Powers that Be.

The imperial Amerikan Subjects, of course, will have to learn the hard way like the Soviets, Iraqis and Filips (under Marcos) learned.

But for that reason, Iraqis just won't buy what Rummy is selling, even if he hires a few Arabic O'Reichleys to put some brown faces up there for them.

But, given their successes over the Imperial Subjects of Amerika with their BIG LIE MACHINE, I can certainly understand their hoping they can replicate that success in Iraq.

The Iraqi people have not bought into their previous propoganda, why does that idiot think they will with this? They will never learn that the Iraqi people are well aware of any and all techniques of this kind, they lived under Saddam which Rumsfeld and all the idiots proposing this seem to forget.

This is perfectly good money pissed away. The Iraqi's will continue to get their news from Al-Jazeera, no one is going to be impressed with the American propaganda outlet.
