Harris pads role, impact on housing, reports say
July 13, 2006

WASHINGTON — On the campaign trail and in her literature, U.S. Rep. Katherine Harris boasts that, as a freshman member of Congress, she passed the American Dream Downpayment Act, "enabling 4.5 million low-income workers to own their first home while growing the U.S. economy by $256 billion."

Federal reports indicate Harris' claims are grossly exaggerated.

A Government Accountability Office report issued June 30 found that, through 2005, only $98.5 million of the $211 million Congress appropriated had been used by local governments to help more than 13,000 low-income families buy new homes — far below her claim of 4.5 million.

Harris also has taken projections of the Bush administration's goals for expanding minority homeownership and used them as the basis of her claims for the economic impact of the American Dream Downpayment Act.

Harris' congressional spokesman, Gerry Fritz, conceded Wednesday that the claims in her campaign literature were inaccurate.

Seems Katherine pads everything, from her bra, to the 2000 Election, to her resume.

4. Of course, but this isn't much different..
That is, lying is Job One with Republicans (elected, appointed and voters), so it's probably not any aversion to deceipt that is behind her staff mutiny problems. Of course, most of the elected ones are a bit more clever in their lies--often making them harder to find or prove (though they still make plenty of blatant, unsupportable lies and promote falsehoods of every type, size and variety).

It's probably primarily that she's just an icky old witch with a rampant libido and ego to match and probably going ballistic much of the time considering how poorly things are going--and blaming her staff for both her failures and their poor performance (as though they could somehow make diamonds from coal). She's a "candidate" who isn't taken at all seriously and is also desperately short of funds--which means that her staff is automatically, de-facto embarrassed to be working for her and don't even really want to admit their association. So when they have to make their calls to ask for donations, to try to line up events, invite guests etc... they go in feeling uncomfortable--only to be slapped in the face in a sense when the person they're talking to laughs at them when they identify who it is they're calling for... It wouldn't take long to want to be somewhere else... anywhere else... just to maintain a tiny amount of self-respect.

3. Well, there is a surprise
perhaps the young lady is just a bit confused. Happens to all of us from time to time, Then again perhaps she is simply a liar, I suspect the voters (if the elections are not stolen) will sort it out.
