Fighting inside Lebanese border

Israeli soldiers are fighting Hezbollah militants inside the Lebanese border,
Israeli military officials say.

The clashes come as Israel keeps up its bombing of Lebanon, carrying out 80
air strikes early on Thursday.

Captain Eric Schneider from the Israeli Defence Force told the BBC there was
heavy fighting between Israeli troops and Hezbollah militants in two places
inside Lebanon's border and that there had been injuries on both sides.

"In one incident an anti-tank missile fired by the Hezbollah struck an IDF vehicle
and there have been casualties on the Israeli side in addition to casualties
on the Hezbollah side," he said.

1. The IDF must know that without a real land assault

all they've done is pruned the bush.

If this is the extent of it, the IDF has failed. But this might be IDF merely probing the defenses or taking out a few targets of tactical importance.
