Former CIA Official tells PBS: Outed Officer Under-cover for 30 years.

A former counter-terrorism official at the CIA and the State Department claimed Tuesday night that outed CIA agent "Valerie Plame" was under cover for three decades and was not a "CIA analyst" as columnist Bob Novak has suggested.

Larry Johnson made the charge on PBS's NEWSHOUR.

"I worked with this woman. She started training with me. She has been under cover for three decades."

Or some such. And Johnson corrected it, or clarified his phrasing? He's got it up there because it is easily refuted, and Johnson easily made to look like a fool, seems to me.

...as in "over the span of three decades". That could be as little as 10 and a half years or as much as 30 years...

they used shortly after the Plame story broke that Valere Plame could not have been Undercover for three (3) decades as Johnson has suggested because she is currently 40 and that would make her a ten year old CIA agent. They used this talking point to persuade that Plame could not have been a NOC, and only a "low level" (and inconsequetial) "analyst".

What Johnson is talking about of Course is that Plame was an agent in the eighties, the nineties, and this decade -----> That's (a span of) three decades.

That would put her in her 40's or so, he needs to check his dates. She could have been in the CIA for 25 years I guess, which meets the three decades requirement depending on how you count.
