Gitmo Guards Often Attacked by Detainees

The prisoners held at Guantanamo Bay during the war on terror have attacked their military guards hundreds of times, turning broken toilet parts, utensils, radios and even a bloody lizard tail into makeshift weapons, Pentagon reports say.

Incident reports reviewed by The Associated Press indicate Military Police guards are routinely head-butted, spat upon and doused by "cocktails" of feces, urine, vomit and sperm collected in meal cups by the prisoners.

They've been repeatedly grabbed, punched or assaulted by prisoners who reach through the small "bean holes" used to deliver food and blankets through cell doors, the reports say. Serious assaults requiring medical attention, however, are rare, the reports indicate.

Guards currently stationed at Guantanamo describe a tense atmosphere in which prisoners often orchestrate violence in hopes of unnerving their captors, especially with attacks using bodily fluids.

Another advocate for torture and intentional mistreatment of prisoners? Prisoners who have not been charged with any crime and who are being held against their wills, simply because they may or may not be a member of Al Queda or the Taliban.

So you think just because we give them Korans and prayer rugs, it's okay to lock them up? And how exactly can you question their piety? I know it's not the same as what you may be used to, but you didn't learn yours, that's assuming you are pious, the way they learned theirs.

As for having much practice in acting like human beings, that can pretty much be said for Americans as well, or any other ethnic group, all you have to do is read history.

as far as history is concerned....that was then, this is now. most societies have evolved, some have steadfastly decided to remain in the 12th or 13th century.

People who are 21st century are expected to sit daintily in the corner of their dungeons after having been slammed in there, caught often in roundups, sometimes captured by profiteers and sold to U.S. forces for money, sometimes victems of being in the wrong place at the wrong time, and after being informed they may be in there forever with no hope of release, some of them simply disappearing off the face of the earth, their whereabouts unknown to their loved ones.

Those of us who read have encountered reports that even U.S. military have admitted many of them have no reason to be there.

I wouldn't be surprised if this isn't being published in advance of another prison scandal coming out, to condition the idiots among us to not give a fig when they hear these people have been tortured even worse than was admitted formerly.
