Heat makes Pat Robertson a global warming "convert"

NEW YORK, Aug 3 (Reuters) - Conservative Christian broadcaster Pat Robertson said on Thursday the wave of scorching temperatures across the United States has converted him into a believer in global warming.

"We really need to address the burning of fossil fuels," Robertson said on his "700 Club" broadcast. "It is getting hotter, and the icecaps are melting and there is a buildup of carbon dioxide in the air."

This week the heat index, the perceived temperature based on both air temperatures and humidity, reached 115 Fahrenheit in some regions of the U.S. East Coast. The 76-year-old Robertson told viewers that was "the most convincing evidence I've seen on global warming in a long time."

Last year, Robertson said natural disasters affecting the globe, including hurricanes Katrina and Rita that wrecked the U.S. Gulf Coast, might be signs that the biblical apocalypse was nearing.

I note that Mr "Praise The Lord" has kept his mouth shut since his gay lover outed him!

I do NOT want to claim his ass, (no one in the gay community would want to, I'd suspect) but the perv HAS to have SOMETHING in his closet. Me thinks he doeth protestith too much. Not to mention how happy he was after calling that meeting with gay leaders a few years back. Dude got laid there, whether he'll admit it to his wife and sheepish followers or not. Something about him makes me want to :banghead:

43. Yeah, that's exactly what I thought too.
This story just confirmed my belief that Pat Robertson doesn't think clearly about anything. In Pat Robertson's confused and tortured mind: scientific studies = secular garbage; 1 month worth of personal experience = incontrovertible fact. What a moron.

What's even sadder is that his ill-founded statements about global warming will probably do more to convince the nutjob masses about global warming than dozens of Ph.D.s and decades of research. What a sad statement about the U.S. today that is.

I'm just surprised he's not telling his followers to burn giant containers of gasoline every night to speed Jesus back on his way to The Rapture.

But No...

Once something inconveniences Robertson personally, it becomes real.

"Moses! Let us into your ark! We believe you now! Global Warming was real!"

Giant killer storms... gay marriage... or global warming... hmmm... which is more likely?

Excuse me, I've got dinner in the microwave. I've decided to just pray for it to get hot, rather than actually turn the microwave on.

Remember the old joke about a city slicker who was horrified to see a farmer smack his mule on the head with a stick before giving it a command. When the city slicker complained, the farmer said, "You just don't understand mules. Eventually they'll do what they have to do, but you gotta get their attention first."

61. I agree Reckon, remember Bush's pledge to curb carbon dioxide
during the 2000 debates, only to make a 180 immediately after the election. Of course this was solely used to fuzz up the picture as to the differences between Al Gore and Bush. If Robertson had actually mentioned the 928 to 0 peer reviewed scientific studies which overwhelmingly supports human induced global warming, as cited in "An Inconvenient Truth" I would be more believing, but a single hot summer as to his reasoning for his new found faith in global warming is not good enough, especially just before an election.
