Kleeb blasts Smith after radio show comments

BY PAUL HAMMEL

WORLD-HERALD BUREAU

LINCOLN - Democratic congressional candidate Scott Kleeb accused Republican opponent Adrian Smith of "distorting the truth" about the anti-farm subsidy views of Club for Growth, the main financial supporter of Smith's campaign.

Kleeb said Wednesday that Smith's statements in a radio call-in show - that Club for Growth's opposition to federal farm subsidy payments was directed mainly at tobacco farmers - is inaccurate.

The Club for Growth wants to eliminate all farm subsidies, Kleeb said.

Smith "needs to explain why he's agreed to take as much money as he (has) from a group that is not only out of touch with the 3rd District but is opposing its single biggest industry," Kleeb said.

Why can't these Rep candidates ever say the truth? I met Scott Kleeb a few months ago. He is the best chance to win the third district Ne. has had in some time. If the farmer's listen to this issue alone, Scott will get elected!

7. Nope
I've met both Kleebs. Two different dudes. :)

I like Scott a lot. Very charismatic, intelligent...kinda cute...and a cowboy! I hope he wins.

6. Club for Growth..
... when you hear of an organization with such a ridiculous name, you know it's a bunch of wingnuts or douchebag libertarians.

They are SUCH dorks.
