PKK Kurdish rebels offer ceasefire to Ankara
SULAIMANIYAH, Iraq (AFP) - Iraq-based Kurdish separatists from the PKK (Kurdistan Workers' Party) have offered a conditional ceasefire to Turkey, one of the rebel group's leaders said.

"We are ready to observe a ceasefire and opt for a peaceful and democratic settlement to the Kurdish issues in Turkey," the group's second-in-command, Murat Karayilan, told AFP.

He said the offer came in response to "many requests by the government of Kurdistan of Iraq and the other Kurdish circles, and responding to the US State Department."

"There must be a political project so that we can start dialogue," Karayilan added.

"We are ready for a ceasefire on September 21 coinciding with World Peace Day. Turkey should be ready to respond and flexible in this regard," he added.

1. PKK is done!
They know the western community doesn't give two shits about them (or Kurds in general), and if Turks and Iranians decide to cross into Iraq and widen their campaign, nobody in the west would do a damn thing to help the Kurds.

"We are ready to observe a ceasefire and opt for a peaceful and democratic settlement" It ain't gonna happen son. You's done, all of youse.

Then the crocodile tears will flow.

3. The PKK should get missiles and fire them at Turkish civilian areas
That should help their reputation - they would have global supporters in no time.

6. There would have to be some precursors
Like Turkey having a policy of building illegal settlements in Kurdish territory.

And Turkey having a policy of kidnapping PKK members in Kurdish territory.

And Turkey having a policy of targeted assassinations that kill innocent civilians and missing the intended target.

And Turkey ignoring and/or violating numerous U.N. resolutions regarding pulling out of disputed territory.

8. Dubya informed Turkey to not act like Israel
A few weeks ago he told them that, without actually saying Israel.
