Thousands Protest In Hungary

BUDAPEST, Sep 16

Thousands of people protested in Budapest on Saturday about tax and price rises and charges for health and education enacted by the government to curb Hungary''s huge budget deficit, Reuters reported.

The demonstration, organised by a group representing families, attracted around 4,000 people and was the first in a series of rallies to protest against the government''s plans ahead of local elections on Oct 1.
