Justice Department: Green transfers illegal (WI)
The Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reports that the State Justice Department ruled a $1.3M transfer of political contributions to a State account by Republican US Congressman Mark Green (who is involved in a heated Governor's race) was illegal.

The State Elections Board told Green to return $468,000-this ruling will open up the possibility of returning all of the $1.3M.
So far Green has refused, stating it was "spent".

2. Green is a slime...
The repukes have really fell out in Wisconsin. Even Waukesha...long time CONSERVATIVE city elected a Democrat mayor earlier this year...it told of things to come...idiots in the pocket of big money with plams greased is just not going to be overlooked anymore.

Watch Sennsenbrenner feel the heat from Repuke scandals in Wisconsin state government and politics.

Ruling on Green money transfer due Monday

Madison Dane County Circuit Judge Richard Niess today promised a ruling by Monday on whether the State Elections Board properly ordered the campaign of U.S. Rep. Mark Green, the Republican candidate for governor, to divest itself of $467,844 in funds transferred from a congressional campaign account.

Daniel Kelly, an attorney for Green's campaign, argued in court this afternoon that previous transfers from congressional accounts were approved by the state Elections Board. He also said the board couldn't retroactively challenge Green's transfer of funds.

"Mark Green's hands were completely clean when he did this," Kelly said.

Lawyers for the state Justice Department said the transfer of almost $1.3 million from a congressional campaign fund to a state account to help Green pay for his run for governor broke state and federal laws.
