Conservative group attacks Dean in TV ad
http://www.qctimes.com/internal.php?story_id=1021341&t=Iowa+%2F+Illinois&c=24,1021341

Six weeks before the Iowa caucuses, a conservative group has launched a television ad campaign targeting Democratic presidential candidate Howard Dean in Iowa and New Hampshire, states that kick off the 2004 campaign.

The Club for Growth began airing the ads Thursday, which accuse Dean of promising a nearly $2,000 tax hike on middle-class families. He has called for repealing the tax cuts passed under President Bush. Immediately, the Dean campaign announced it would air a response.

This is the second time in the last couple weeks that ads attacking Democrats have aired in the state. But this is the first one that targets an individual candidate, and the leader of the group airing it said it is because Dean is the most "radical," but also because he is seen as the leader.

...just a bit more...

1. If Conservatives wanted to run against Dean...
...why would they be trying to sabotage his campaign???

Curious.

4. It's reverse psychology...
They attack him because they want us to think they're afraid of him when, in fact, they really WANT him to be the Dem nominee.

...did I mention? Dean also eats babies...

6. The Club for Growth isn't remotely conservative
its a radical organization fighting to remake the United States in its own image - a terrifying prospect if ever there was one.

I. I think you may be reading too much into this if you think the CfG always acts rationally.

II. This is an extremely limited advertising campaign - more of a trial balloon than any thing else.

III. An important faction within the GOP is of the belief that Dean has this in the bag. Remember, he's way ahead in New Hampshire, with only six weeks to the primary. I don't know whether that reflects the views of the Club for Growth or not, but its a possibility.

3. Something to consider about Dean
Notice how the Dean campaign is immediately in the process of rebutting this retarded attack ad. It does go to show that money is a HUGE part of becoming successful in politics. I think Dean will have the resources to go blow for blow with Bush during general election season (should he get that far).

Because the answer, my friend, is blowing in the wind.
The answer is blowing in the wind.

8. The quick response
is the key. All dems should have learned this from Clinton and his 'war room.' I can remember what a difference that made when he responded immediately to attacks. I do hope we will all unite behind the democratic candidate if its Dean or whoever.

9. I thought Dean was Rove's wet dream...
Has the smarmy one changed his mind, perhaps?
