Biden Wanted Cheney Out Too
Said On Face The Nation 'Not One Piece Of Advice' On Iraq Was Right

<snip>

On CBS News's Face the Nation Sen. Joe Biden, D-Del, the ranking Democrat on the Foreign Relations Committee, said he thinks Rumsfeld should lose his job because of what he sees as mismanagement of the war.

Biden also said that, in an Oval Office meeting, he told President Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney that he wanted Cheney to step down for the same reasons.

"The present said to me, quote, 'Why do you keep picking on Rummy?' I looked at the president, and I said, 'Mr. President, with all due respect' – and I looked at the vice president – 'Mr. Vice President, I would call for your resignation as well, were you not a constitutional officer,'" Biden told host Bob Scheiffer.

"And the president said, 'Why would you say that?' And I said, 'Mr. President, not one piece of advice either Don Rumsfeld or Dick Cheney has given you has turned out to be correct with regard to Iraq.' And the president just seems completely wedded to the notion," Biden said.

3. Biden wouldn't back up Kerry's call to get rid of Rumsfeld in 2003-4, and
promised Bush that he wouldn't make Iraq war a CAMPAIGN issue.

After the election, Biden couldn't wait to pipe up against Rummy.

19. Who stood with Kerry when he called for Rumsfeld firing in 2003 and 2004?
Edited on Mon Oct-02-06 08:47 AM by blm
Not Biden or Feingold or Clinton or ANY Name Democrat - - Gore came round in summer of 2004 but still no other big name Dem would back Kerry up on this.

Gee - you think people would have BACKED UP their presidential nominee on a matter SO HUGE right before the election. GOPs back up their guy for LIES with more gusto than big name Dems will back up theirs with the TRUTH.

7. that was the stupidest exchange I have seen from a Democrat in a long time
Fist shieffer was all confused and thought Biden meant the chimp should resign. So for several minutes the two were talking about different people resigning! :eyes:

Then scheiffer got Biden to clarify he meant the dick should resign. Sheiffer asked biden if he really meant it and he said "NO". Dumb fuck. What a waste of a senate seat and airtime.

:puke:
