Gephardt, Lieberman hit bumps on the trail
On paper, Representative Richard A. Gephardt and Senator Joseph I. Lieberman are standouts in the field of nine Democratic presidential candidates.

The Missouri congressman is coming off 14 years as the House Democratic leader, a national figure who has enjoyed close ties to organized labor and has experience running for president, from 1988. Lieberman, the three-term senator from Connecticut, vaulted to national prominence in 2000 as Al Gore's running mate. Many in the Democratic Party base still believe that he and Gore were robbed by the Supreme Court in the closest presidential election in US history.

In Iowa, whose caucuses kick off the presidential voting on Jan. 19, Gephardt holds a slight lead in public opinion polls. In national surveys, Lieberman also retains an edge over the field.

Yet both Gephardt and Lieberman's campaigns are displaying signs that some political insiders interpret as distress flares.

1. give it up Holy Joe
You can't hold a candle to Dean, Kerry, or Edwards. Graham is just warming up, so the book is stil out on him. But Holy Joe? Naaww....Gepharrdt? He was duped like so many other people, so I hope he's learned his lesson.

2. Between the MoveOn poll and other relatively honest polls...
Lieberman and Geppy should fold their tents and just steal away. The last few years of running to the Bushes screaming that I'm with you has done them in. All the good years for these two dillitantes in politics are long over. They capitulated to this criminal regime early and often...and should pay the penalty for that.

4. Lieberman's stint on C-Span's "Road to the Whitehouse" was
an embarassment. He's toast.

5. Flip-flop Gephardt
With any luck, Flip-flop and Holy Joe will tumble off the charts and remove themselves from the running. They both look ridiculous running as Democrats.

6. I don't care about Gephart, but it's time for Holy Joe to say goodbye.
Let's hope a few more bumps help to convince him to pull out of the campaign.

7. Working people are looking to Kucinich
as their candidate. This is eroding Gephart's support.

8. If Gephardt doesn't win the Iowa Caucus, he's toast
He's from Missouri, for crying out loud, he can bus supporters and organizers in from his home state and chauffeur his Iowa supporters to the caususes. If he can't win there, he's not going to win anywhere.

10. If Gephardt had not gone to visit bu$h and taken his side with the war
immediately, he would have more support. He just rolled over and let bu$h scratch his belly.

11. I didn't like Kerry and Edward's fast vote with the monkey,
and will have to hold my nose to vote for either of them.
