FBI investigating actions of Specter staff member
WASHINGTON — The FBI is investigating whether a member of Sen. Arlen Specter's staff broke the law by helping her husband, a lobbyist, secure almost $50 million in Pentagon spending for his clients, the senator acknowledged Tuesday.

In an Aug. 21 letter, FBI official Joseph Persichini Jr. told Specter, R-Pa., that the bureau is investigating "allegations of possible criminal misconduct" by staff member Vicki Siegel Herson. Persichini also asked for a copy of a report summarizing the results of an investigation of Siegel and other Specter employees with relatives who are lobbyists. Specter's former chief of staff, William Reynolds, carried out the investigation.

3. Hmmm, I wonder what prompted that?...
I guarantee you at leaset half of the staffers on Capitol Hill are doing something similar, and everyone turns a blind eye, what singled her out? THIS is how Bush, Cheney and their cronies maintain the iron fist.

5. exactly
They're going after Specter for "breaking ranks".

When the GOPhers consider someone as morally compromised as Specter as "too soft", it's really time to
get worried.

6. Bullshit. Repukes ARE NOT going after Specter
They fought like crazy to keep a far right wing challenger down during the primary election. They do not want to lose his seat to a Dem. It would be crazy and suicidal for them to dump on Specter now. Whereever this came from it was not another Repuke.

7. Not all Repukes are neocons...
there is a war going on right now between the conservatives and the neocons.

You may be right, but I think otherwise.

Who controls the FBI right now?

14. So what could they possibly gain by losing seat to a Dem?
There is simply no logic. Now there may well be a sole or several Republicans buried deep in the FBI that hates the way things are going and saw an opportunity but I guarantee you this did not come from the Republican party establishment. It is simply not in their interest to lose any seat.

Who knows, maybe it even came from an individual Dem or group of Dems in the FBI or another Federal Agency. Dems do exist in every agency and department.
