Florida Democrats Pay Tribute to Graham
LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. (AP) -- The Florida Democratic Party paid tribute Saturday to its most popular figure -- Bob Graham -- and the senator took the opportunity to criticize President Bush.

Graham lashed out at Bush for the budget deficit, his environmental policy and the war on Iraq. His speech at the party convention was interrupted by a thunderous chant of ``No more Bush.''

Graham, who is a retiring next year after three terms in the Senate, dropped his presidential campaign two months ago.

``During my presidential campaign I was frequently accused of being too passionate,'' Graham said. ``I am passionate about the fact that today we are continuing a war in the wrong place against the wrong enemy for the wrong reason. I am passionate about the fact that this president is clueless -- clueless -- as to our economic future. I am passionate about the fact that even in this feeble recovery we still are not creating the jobs that the American people need.''

1. Love Bob Graham
I sure hope he's not out of this thing entirely. I have high hope he's on a couple short lists for VP, and if not that at the very least will be sitting in some Cabinet position in Jan. of 2005. :)

Good on ya, Senator Graham! :toast:

2. Me, too
I was so happy to see him appreciated that way. Here at DU Graham seems undervalued. He's a great American and such an asset to the Dems. I just love him, too.

3. Bob Graham
is a treasure. I hope we haven't seen the last of him.

I can't belive the great combover from NH is going to run for his seat. My former senator (and embarassing presidential candidate) Bob Smith. Oh - the shame...
