Rice Says 'Axis of Evil' Proven Right
Top U.S. Diplomat Says History Has Proved Bush's Axis of Evil Reference Was Right

WASHINGTON Oct 24, 2006 (AP)— Recent events in Iran and North Korea support President Bush's 2002 claim that those nations were part of an "axis of evil," Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said Tuesday.

After discussions of the North Korean nuclear test and the anti-Semitic remarks of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, radio host Sean Hannity asked Rice about the axis remark.

"You think of some of the world reaction to the president's use of the word 'axis of evil,' and then you see how events have been unfolding," Hannity remarked.

"It was a pretty good analysis, wasn't it?" Rice replied. "It really was."

11. Wait until he gets up at the next SOTU and calls China an evil
empire, or more likely: "Big, scary jerks".

They can help us or hurt us and I'm sure Herr Boosh will find a way to induce them to hurt us. Then he dumps the problem in the Democrats lap...
If we survive the next 20+ years of hell that * and his ilk have created for us, it will be a miracle.

12. World's stupidiest analogy...
still has life beyond it's faceless utterance.

While Germany, Italy and Japan were allied under treaty and therefore formed an 'axis'...Iran and Iraq hate each other guts and those two have about as much in common with North Korea as a cats and dogs. The analogy was stupid from day one.

Moreover, none of these countries ever threatened to takeover the world by quietly attacking and occupying countries like Japan, Germany or Italy did. Clearly the analogy is a much better fit if you apply it to the US, Britain and Israel. That makes far more sense, especially in the last five years.

It's amazing that people are still using it without getting a laugh.

and Iran and North Korea were pushed to be more extreme by the *'s declaration and subsequent actions. And there is no axis either. And the more dangerous evil is * and with his war and refusal to sign Kyoto.

18. vapid fool.
the word "axis" was used to specify a degree of cooperation during WWII. north korea has nothing to do with iraq which, until recently wanted NOTHING to do with iran, which has nothing to do with north korea. so, i suppose, in a way, the bush admin is doing its damndest to create such an axis.

or, given the recent justification of the use of torture, we are doing our damndedst to lead it.

19. So they've found WMDs in Iraq? Nukes? Dangerous fuzzy bunnies?
BushCo was wrong on Iraq, the jury is still out on Iran, and North Korea has said all along they would negotiate if they trusted BushCo to do so in good faith-- something Bush refuses to do.

Of things that were proven right: War protestors were proven right. The August DPB was proven right. Everyone who warned her of an impending terrorist attack was proven right. All of us who said there were no WMDs in Iraq were proven right. All of us who said Iraq would become a Civil War were right.

Then we could talk about the deficit, Social Security, Medicaid, the economy, tax cuts to the rich...

Edited on Wed Oct-25-06 11:09 AM by Jack Rabbit
First of all, she was talking to Hannity. He's no one to take seriously in the first place.

Second, axis of evil isn't analysis. It is a PR slogan. While I definitely have problems with Saddam, Iranian Mullahs (Ahmadinejad was not in power at the time) and Kim Jong Il, they were not an axis. They were not working in concert with each other.

24. She certainly is in the right job!
<sarcasm off>

This woman needs to go back and stay in a classroom. This is the only place where she fits, excels, and belongs. It is not enough to be supremely talented in other areas and academically gifted: the skills needed as Secretary of State are diplomacy, communication, networking, conceptual, and interpersonal, and bitch don't got 'em.
