LAYOFFS HIT MSNBC

Freelancers and per-diems are receiving early Christmas presents at all-news cable channel MSNBC -- after layoff slips are quietly passed around the network's offices!

"People are in shock over it," said one fired peacock.

Cut from payroll in recent weeks have been producers, line producers, tape producers, associate producers, segment producers and writers.

21. Not really, neither was spinning for Dubya.
Buchannan was one of the few who never caved in about Bush's war. He thought it was a bad idea before it started and a bad Idea after it started.
He wasn't towing the neo-con line. They had to get rid of him. He was setting a bad example for other Republicans. He had his own opinion.
Oh, and Press was the Liberal.

...being let go. These are additional people they're talking about.

33. they are trying to bring their eps in over estimation
Edited on Mon Dec-08-03 05:34 PM by SemperEadem
by the end of the quarter on 12/31, so to do that, they dump their expendable employees, work the staff silly and at the beginning of the new year, they'll hire everyone back who will be enticed to come back.

That is freelance life in broad/cable casting.

35. I loved Buchanan and Press
I disagreed with Buchanan on a lot of issues, but we had the same views on the Iraq war and he did seem to call a spade a spade. I'm sure that's exactly why they god rid of him.

Anybody know just how bad Scarboner's ratings are? I hate that f*cker.

Also,
If you can suggest some ways to make the page easier let me know.
Thanks,

28. About the links...
Some of those links are for one day sales. They become active on the correct date. I'll put a note there.

I outline that on the main special deals page.

22. Now Abrahams is on three times a night.
If reruns don't discourage viewers, I don't know what does.

If they wanted to improve their ratings, they should say, "You call us the 'Liberal Press', we'll show you what 'Liberal Press' really means. Then they just spice up the news with editorializing, deroggotory comments about the president and his staff and feature a few off-beat personalities like Al Franken and Bill Maher. That will show them what a "Liberal Press" really is.
Right now, there is no counter balance to Faux. To some, anything that isn't Fox, must be liberal.

9. Sweetie, pay attention.
If Americans aren't working, it doesn't matter how many CEOs get rich. This economy is in meltdown, not recovery.

31. As a Bushevik muderer, Scarborogh will ALWAYS have a job
One wonders what poor Ms. Klausutis found that she ahd to be killed. Perhaps a box of Gore ballots or the IBM Punch-o-Matic they used to invalidate no many votes, laden with chads?

Or perhaps it was just a crime of passion.

Either way, Murderin' Joe is safe.

18. There is a massive vacuum on the left wing of coverage.
They're stupid if they don't use this as an opportunity to fill it.

Try on the right wing, and you just compete with Fox. That's not good business.

There are plenty of lefties out there to pander to. They have money. Make USE of us! LOL

24. The bigger vaccuum
is the lack of TRUTH coverage.

I don;t want a left wing news source any more than I want a right-wing news source. I simply want uneditorialized news.
