Top Secret Advisor To 4 Presidents Dies 'Violently' In DC -Iraq
http://rense.com/general45/violnt.htm

Gus W. Weiss, 72, adviser to four presidents on top secret policy matters, died violently in Washington, DC, on November 25, 2003, but his death was not reported by The Washington Post until December 7, 2003, in the obitiuary section at the bottom of page C12.

'''He was wired into the intelligence community, and there were a lot of mystical secrets we weren't privy to,' said Harris Gilbert, a Nashville attorney who had been friends with Mr. Weiss since childhood. 'He was very interested in diplomatic strategy and was VERY, VERY OPPOSED TO THE IRAQ WAR. It was the first military action he ever opposed, but he believed we shouldn't go to war in the Middle East without knowing what we were getting into.''' (emphasis added)

On what basis did the medical examiner rule that it was a suicide? On what basis could any mere medical examiner so rule, particularly when someone has died from a fall, presumably from a high altitude? All a medical doctor is qualified to do is to determine the cause of death. That, we are told, was "a fall from the Watergate East residential building." How does the medical examiner know what caused the fall?

maybe this hasn't happened in the past 12 hours-but the news is only leaking out now -dateline dec. 12-

:wtf:

What the hell is going on? UN Worker is killed AT THE UN BUILDING!!! , US State Dept. Employee is killed RIGHT OUTSIDE THE STATE DEPARTMENT , and now this? I could understand if it was natural, but this is a kind of spooky.

remember that air force colonel (?) in Arizona (?) who was declared a suicide after being found crashed in his car with his nipples ripped off, burn marks, etc.

That was here in San Antonio, Texas. His wife went on the news and stated she wanted an investigation done. She clearly had an idea who could of been behind it. Haven't heard anything else about the matter in some time.

26. Colonel Philip Shue (deceased)
Very bizarre, uh, "suicide": Nipples surgically removed, part of a finger cut off, six-inch cut in his chest, duct tape his wrists and boots, then drive into a tree.

http://www.militarycorruption.com/shue-4.htm

As investigators searched the crime scene and spoke with family members, suspicions arose immediately. Investigators found silver duct tape around Shue's wrists and on his boot tops, which were first attributed to possible work-related activities, such as military exercises, but officials now say the duct tape acted most likely as a restraint.

Also, Tracy Shue, widow of the victim, reported that he had received two warnings of a possible plot to kill him, first in May 1999 and again in August 2000. In both letters, the anonymous author warns Shue that his life may be in danger, and that the author will keep him informed if more is learned.

Apparently, Shue reported the messages and his fears to his military superiors, but that they "dismissed it" and suggested counseling, Tracy said.

2. Interesting
I've heard the Fundie Crazies have taken over the "Intellegence" community from several other sources but I can't imagine an outspoken "player" committing suicide after 72 years and retiring on top of his profession.

4. Then again...
Maybe it was simply a suicide after all.

Men who have advised some of the most corrupt leaders on earth might well reach an age at which, haunted by the memory of their asssitance to men who caused sorrow the globe over, they flung themselves finally from a sufficiently high floor of the Watergate hotel, as it has been suggested the late Mr. Weiss did.

27. Examine what you imply
You imply that he may have been corrupt because he advised corrupt Presidents. It also implies he found 'religion' and was so disgusted with himself that he ended his own life because of his disgust or depression for his life work. It also implies that every advisor to a President is corrupt. I just don't buy this kind of supposition. Sorry.

You cross the Junta, you "commit suicide". Just like in Nazi Germany. They don't come after us because we are just way to small potatoes. But after 2004, they will get around to us.

11. Huh? He hadn't worked in the White House since the Carter Administration
If the Bush Administration were evil or desperate enough to defenestrate pensioned septugenarian staffers from the 1970s, then they would have killed me long ago.

Wouldn't it be prudent first to look at the man's history, to see if he has had recent medical diagnoses, or perhaps a history of depression? Or perhaps even to look at the Coroner's report that ruled this is a suicide, before accusing the President of the United States of first degree homicide?

I think this may simply be another case of a conspiracy theory running faster than the mind.

I'm sorry, I give up. My brain works differently than yours (and that's a collective yours, I'm not singling you out HereSince1628 individually). I'm afraid DU is suffering from collective insanity - the kind where ordinarily bright and sane people lose their minds when placed in contact with one another.

You just can't argue with this shit. This, like a thousands other conspiracy theories like this, are safe from argument because they scrupulously avoid facts. Oh, leading adjectives abound.

Isn't it a coincidence...? is one common beggining.

Or did you hear about the suspicious...? when its the poster who's the only who's actually suspicious.

Or so-and-so had connections with somebody-or-other. Really? Connections? So what? Who gives a flying fish?

The fact that people here are discussing MOs, motives and other such bullshit when not one of you knows a damn thing about this man or this case other than what was contained in the attached article, is so unbelievably pathetic it beggars description. At least give us the courtesy to read the damn coroner's report before you start looking for men on grassy knolls.

38. I can't remind you - I'm too lost in these messages at this moment
I also don't think that anyone should jump to conclusions because the second, third, fourth wave on follow-up changes initial assumptions.

However, I've read too much, I heard too much, I've seen the faces and heard the agendas of the enemies of this country who are inside this country - supposedly citizens, but I don't put one little thing past them and I expect the worse. Name one good thing they've done for the country and I'll take more time to make judgements.

I hope we learn plenty about Mr. Weiss, the Watergate jumper.

13. It would be easy to become paranoid
but I wonder what the statistics are on people really committing
suicide by jumping out of windows.

From what I've read, shooting (men) and sleeping pills (women) are
the most common ways for people to take their own lives, then
perhaps hanging or slashed wrists. But most of the cases I've ever
read about where people "fell" or "jumped" out of a window were
generally held to be political assassination or getting rid of
potentially damaging witnesses.

I wonder?

15. CIA assassination manual: "most efficient accident...is a fall of 75 feet"
From a declassified CIA assassination manual:

"The most efficient accident, in simple assassination, is a fall of 75 feet or more onto a hard surface. Elevator shafts, stair wells, unscreened windows and bridges will serve. Bridge falls into water are not reliable. In simple cases a private meeting with the subject may be arranged at a properly-cased location. The act may be executed by sudden, vigorous of the ankles, tipping the subject over the edge. If the assassin immediately sets up an outcry, playing the “horrified witness”, no alibi or surreptitious withdrawal is necessary. In chase cases it will usually be necessary to stun or drug the subject before dropping him. Care is required to insure that no wound or condition not attributable to the fall is discernible after death.

"Falls into the sea or swiftly flowing rivers may suffice if the subject cannot swim. It will be more reliable if the assassin can arrange to attempt rescue, as he can thus be sure of the subject’s death and at the same time establish a workable alibi.

"If the subject’s personal habits make it feasible, alcohol may be used to prepare him for a contrived accident of any kind.

"Falls before trains or subway cars are usually effective, but require exact timing and can seldom be free from unexpected observation. Automobile accidents are a less satisfactory means of assassination. If the subject is deliberately run down, very exact timing is necessary and investigation is likely to be thorough. If the subject’s car is tampered with, reliability is very low. The subject may be stunned or drugged and then place in the car, but this is only reliable when the car can be run off a high cliff or into deep water without observation."

17. The Roving Machine
Too early for conclusions but ... 2000 was it Ashcroft's political opponent whose plane fell out of the sky within a month of the election, Wellstone's demise stinks to high heaven, Valerie Plame/Wilson affair, State Department jumper, anthrax to the offices of democratic opponents who initially wanted a swift investigation into 911. The 'Roving' machine of political dirty tricks and usually just character assassignation (but who knows?), is well documented. The man who coddles our Pres. is not a nice person, what are his limits? As I say too early and not enough trails to make a conclusion but for those who might like to leap toward conspiracy some fuel just came out from Wayne Madsen, "Karl Rove the King of Dirt", Google it.

22. He was most prominent in the Reagan years
Edited on Mon Dec-08-03 11:00 AM by starroute
"Whether or not Reagan opposed East-West trade on ‘moral, economic and strategic grounds’ is debatable given his lifting of the grain embargo in April 1981 and other measures, which he later approved, but it is clear that he appointed people to low, middle and high ranking positions who held such views. These included Gus W. Weiss and Norman A. Bailey on the National Security Council (NSC) staff, Richard Perle as Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security Policy, Richard Pipes the main Soviet specialist on the NSC, Lawrence Brady, Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Export Administration, William P. Clark, National Security Adviser, William Casey, Director of the CIA, and Caspar Weinberger, Secretary of Defense."

http://www.cc.jyu.fi/~pete/EWDobson.pdf

There's information here and in other places on the hard-liners in Reagan's administration and on Operation Farewell, which Weiss came up with as a way of feeding disinformation to the Soviets.

I don't know what it all amounts to, but it's interesting that Weiss seems to have been part of a group with Perle and Pipes -- and was very close to William Casey.

30. Sure are a lot of suicides by faling onto a hard surface lately, eh?
Of course, that's the surest way to make ceratin the victim is dead, and it spares the murderer having to do like with Cliff Baxter, execute him with untraceable Glazer Safety Slugs, who's rarity raises uncomfortable questions.

But no funny questions like that are raised when someone goes splat from a high window...

...exactly as the CIA suggests when murdering people.
