Ottawa stays pot charges in 4,000 cases

Ottawa -- Ottawa is making it a green Christmas for 4,000 people -- it plans to stay thousands of charges of pot possession as a result of legal battles over medicinal marijuana.

The decision will apply to every person in Canada charged with possession of marijuana between July 31, 2001, and Oct. 7, 2003, Justice Department spokeswoman Pascale Boulay said yesterday.

2. Can's gov't started selling pot back in July

It would seem rather hypocritical for the gov't to jail/fine/punish people for selling the same "herbal medicine" now (ref http://cnews.canoe.ca/CNEWS/Law/Marijuana/2003/07/09/131064-cp.html)

6. Apparently it was really lousy reefer....

Not strong enough for a half-decent buzz and it gave the user a bad headache. Somehow people weren't greatly surprised that Agriculture Canada couldn't grow a weed!

Just how long will the Busheviks permit a free and liberal nation to fluorish right next to their Empire?

I think the Empire will have to do more transforming into it's Imperial incarnation before that happens.

. . and I am not alone - thank the USA's GWB for this decision
