Cantwell reelected in Washington
With polls closed less than three minutes The Associated Press and CNN Tuesday projected Democratic Sen. Maria Cantwell the winner over former Safeco executive Mike McGavick.

Cantwell, a freshman who barely won her seat six years ago, and moderate McGavick had largely agreed on the Iraq war, but voters stuck with the incumbent who vowed to fight for a fresh course.

The call at poll-closing for Cantwell was based on a number of factors, including voter turnout, previous voting patterns, and a statistical analysis of the vote from voter interviews conducted for The Associated Press by Edison Media Research and Mitofsky International.

As the first tallies in Washington were posted, CNN had was already projected that Democrats would with at least the 15 seats they needed to take back Congress for the first time since 1994.

2. He *IS* about the whiniest ass I've seen in this state
Not to mention backbiting, backsliding, rude, a liar, opportunist, my best guess a criminal, and basically an all around full of shit asshole. One of the lesser joys at the end of this election day is to never see one of his commercials again.

I dislike him almost as much as I dislike John Carlson.

4. I don't like him either....
But he did distance himself from Shrub and made some decent arguements for a Repug on Iraq....

3. Congrats, Maria. Now, how do we hold her feet to the fire?

I'll be dammed if I'm gonna let her pull some of the crap she did previously. Unquestioned support for Iraq until just a few months ago to win the Primary, no backbone in defending the Supreme Court against bad appointments, just to name TWO.

I voted for Maria Cantwell - TWICE! She won the first time by just 1200 votes total! We don't want a Rubber-stamp Repub - we want a Democrat. The loser, Mike McGavick, ran as a candidate for CHANGE in DC! He was desperate, but that doesn't mean we voted for more of the same. The opponent's battle cry is a reflection of a strong feeling in the people of Washington State. We want a CHANGE in Washington. We want backbone.

She had better start listening to her constituents, because I can't guarantee a third vote. We have an old saying in Washington, fool me once, shame on you...fool me...uh...you can't get fooled again!

I'm glad she won, but she's now gotten all the credit from me that she's going to get. It's all about the future. FIX IT!

I hope to god my friends in VA and MO feel the same way that I do.

Peace.

8. That's right. Time for her to act like a Democrat. No excuse now.
What can we do? Ask Patty to pressure her? Hell Murray voted FOR nafta. I dunno...

10. Letters, phone calls
I'm on her email list, if she wants my support (time or money) she needs to act like a Democrat. And no more war bullshit either.
