Bush trades jabs with Rev. Al over elections

<snip>

"Don't feel too bad," Sharpton told Bush about the GOP nosedive in the congressional elections. "I lost some elections and kept going," said Sharpton, who has yet to win an election while losing bids for mayor, senator and President.

"I guess that's good advice coming from you," a smiling Bush replied in a dig at Sharpton's vast experience - at losing.

Not to be topped, Sharpton shot back: "The only thing is, that isn't the last election we're going to win."
...

Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.), a potential presidential contender in 2008, was among the keynoters, and Bush also playfully noted the standing ovation given to former President Bill Clinton, compared with the respectful applause that greeted his own entrance.

Turning to Clinton, who was seated behind him on the stage, Bush said, "It sounds like to me they haven't forgotten you yet."

2. I saw Rev. Al in the Brooks Brothers on Conn. Ave. in DC yesterday.
It's right near ABC News. Did they interview him?

And, yes, he was dressed very sharply. Now we know why.

3. every time I take one of those online "who's your candidate" tests
I come up with Al and Dennis Kucinich. It's sad that Al damaged himself so badly at the start of his career. He's smart as hell, the best debater of all the Democrats and, as I say, his politics are my politics.

11. I love to listen to him talk - he's smart, articulate and funny

but if he can't get himself elected to something, then he's nothing but a talking head. <shrug> Nothing wrong with that, it allows him to be a bit more honest, forthcoming, and yes, a bit mnore controvesial then an elected official, but our elected laders don't have to take him serious, or treat his ideas as if they had any merit. They don't have to pay any attention to him at all.

for the quizzes you mentioned. Oddly, I haven't come across that type, just those for political orientation. Thanks.

21. Amen...
Saw Al at Camp Casey. He will never win an election, but he is as feisty as a pit bull and twice as tenecious. And what an orator and wit. He's great. He was going easy on Dubya what with Dubyas limitations and all.

23. He gave the Sunday Service....
talked about the book of Ruth. Talked about being the concious of all families that had lost loved ones. He is a really good bible based orators, like Jesse Jackson, etc. His jokes can have you wetting your pants in laughter and his speechs can have you on your feet cheering. But good orators seldom hold office. Barbara Jordan was the exception. I have a good pic of him leading Cindy out to lay the roses at the memorial site at Camp Casey II in Crawford if I can find the book.

25. A Bush/Sharpton smackdown....
I'd pay good money to see that verbal exchange; man would BushCo be thrashed. Sharpton would eviscerate the *.

And Bush doesn't "playfully" do anything.
