More lies: Recession's Severity Scaled Down
http://www.washingtonpost.com/ac2/wp-dyn/A54560-2003Dec10?language=printer

The 2001 recession, already among the mildest in modern U.S. economic history, was even slightly shallower than earlier estimated, according to a comprehensive revision of national income and production figures released yesterday by the Commerce Department.

...The Commerce Department's Bureau of Economic Analysis, which is responsible for producing the national income and GDP numbers, altered several definitions and methodologies in an effort to track the rapid changes in the complex U.S. economy. The new figures paint much the same picture as the old ones -- for the past 10 years, the average growth rate of the economy is still 3.2 percent a year -- but several important details for the past year or two are different.

**********************

If we're just now adjusting the creative accounting from 2001, one can only wonder how much they're lying about the current numbers.

2. Well, think about it . . . If the recession was mild, and
"Clinton caused it",

AND as the Repukes will tell you, "the tax cuts had nothing to do with starting the recession because the cuts had not gone into effect",

Then Bush had absolutely nothing to do with the "recovery" aspect of the economy, only the "job loss" part.

5. As Orwell Said
He who controls the past, controls the future. By this time next year freepers will remember nothing of the past three years, but how Jr. saved us all from terraists and brought the economy online after 8 years of Democratic mismanagement.

This '04 campaign may end up being mind-bendingly surreal. Rove knows that a cerain brainlocked segment of the population is utterly malleable.

They're counting on more though. We need to question everything.
