AP: Pentagon wants $99.7B more for wars
WASHINGTON - The Pentagon wants the White House to seek another $99.7 billion to fund the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, according to information provided to The Associated Press.

The military's request, if embraced by President Bush and approved by Congress, would boost this year's budget for the wars to about $170 billion.

3. Me, too! I want $99.7 Billion more, too. But just for Christmas shopping
and some bill paying and such.

Where do I line up? I've done a better job than the Pentagon this year! I deserve it more!

8. How about oil *company* money?
Edited on Wed Dec-20-06 04:22 PM by Marr
Since they're the ones benefitting from the US-control of Iraq's oil supplies, why not pay for the occupation with special taxes on oil companies and defense contractors like Haliburton? They can send all their profits to the government, which alots some of it back to the Pentagon, which directs a portion of the remaining sum back to the contractors! No profits at all, just pure patriotic duty.

It's like the Circle of Life! I'm sure they'd all love that- I've seen the energy company ads and they all seem really jazzed on that environmental stuff.

7. You just know the lib'rul media will round it up to $100 billion
I mean, really, where else can you find a bargain like this? Ruining a whole country AND destabilizing an entire region, all for less than $100 billion?! It's a steal!!
