Bush signs law targeting Syria
http://english.aljazeera.net/NR/exeres/4828C82E-00DE-45DF-8C51-36992576C7EC.htm

Saturday 13 December 2003, 5:14 Makka Time, 2:14 GMT

<snip>
US President George Bush has signed a legislation that aims to punish Syria for its alleged ties to "terrorists" and purported efforts to obtain nuclear, biological and chemical weapons.

"Today, I have signed into law HR 1828, the 'Syria Accountability and Lebanese Sovereignty Restoration Act of 2003,'" Bush said in a statement released by the White House on Friday.

<snip>

And it gives the administration a range of options for punishing Damascus, from restricting US exports and business investment to downgrading Washington's diplomatic representation and imposing travel restrictions on Syrian diplomats in the United States.

10. They still don't get it, do they?
The gall of these "Democrats" we continue to elect to represent us. Do you really believe for a moment that demonizing another country is representing us?
I am guessing these Senators do not want to represent us, in peace anyway.

Gephardt
Clinton
Graham
Lieberman
Kennedy

Can anyone freakin' explain this?

2. In other news:
EUobserver: Deal reached on closer ties with Syria

EUOBSERVER / BRUSSELS - A deal has been reached with Syria which looks set to further distance the EU's foreign policy towards "rogue states" from that of the United States.

The European Commission today announced that it has struck a deal with Syria on developing political and trade ties, extending Brussels' policy of constructive engagement with
countries dubbed "rogue states" by the US government.

"We managed yesterday, in Damascus, to reach an understanding with the Syrian side on all remaining issues in the negotiations for a Euro-Mediterranean association agreement",
said a spokesperson for the European Commission.

The EU has backed a policy of engagement with Iran, Libya and Syria to address human rights, non-proliferation and terrorism issues.

6. It's certainly getting interesting but we've got a squatter in the WH
who can screw up anything, heck, he can't even carry a cute little poochy without dropping it.
Libya has oil exploration sites that American companies had contracted for prior to the sanctions placed by Reagan but the sites have never been reassigned, the companies have been lobbying DC for the sanctions to be lifted. Families of the victims of the Libyan commercial airliner shot down in 73 are suing Israel, very interesting case if you've not heard of it.

9. this isn't necessarily Bush's baby
I believe the bill is originally sponsored in the congresses by Zionist Democrats, ideologists such as Daniel Pipes and his people, etc.. that the bill helps along the Bush regime's criminal agenda is not any accident, but, strictly speaking, it was other unsavory tendencies that were at work here than just Dear Leader.

12. Now I'm a believer that the draft is on its way.
If we're keeping reservists engaged for 18 months and Congress is trying to expand our forces at a time when I think recruitment numbers aren't increasing (correct me if I'm wrong on that one) and now we're on our way to attacking yet another country...how can we do all this on a volunteer military??

Do we know where all the candidates stand on the draft by the way?

...but that won't stop lil' Hitler from embarking on his next conquest. That's okay, though... we have all those 18-23 year olds that can be dragged from their homes to fight another unwinnable war.

I never imagined the depth of irresponsibility this admin has shown was possible, but they surprise me on a daily basis... :grr:

22. They want chaos ... keeps everyone from figuring them out!
Covers them...makes it easier because they have multiple goals...

1) To kill off a good portion of people...the lower fodder cannon units and the brown-skinned peeps

2) To control the world of course

3) To bring the US to its knees so it can be ruled by this lil DICtator

4) Armageddon...crusade...holy jihad

5) And of course getting rich at the same time...

Did I miss anything? Hard to kill something with multiple targets kinda like medUSA...these days...good analogy for our country I think!

18. a nugget in this bill that may be "telling"
is that the Admin objected to it until Busboy was given sole right to grant waivers. Foriegn policy becomes unilateral...White House to World, skip the middlemen (Congress)....and Congress gives it to him! The Constitution needs some more allies out there.

20. Congresscritters should spend their time passing bills so we can VOTE
and make sure our vote is counted! We need to be pushing through legislation to demand Voter Verified Paper Ballots! Then we could get rid of ALL these warmongers.

We need to clean house....and senate.

23. Damascus should declare all US Diplomats persona non grata...
Just kick em all out. And then recall all of their own staff from the US. Suspend all diplomatic relations with the US. There are plenty of other countries in the world to work with, as the above story about the EU illustrates.
