Security patrol attacked
Multi-National Division – Baghdad PAO

BAGHDAD – A Multi-National Division - Baghdad patrol was attacked by small arms fire,
killing one Soldier in the western part of the Iraqi capital today.

The unit was returning from conducting a security patrol when they came under attack
by small arms fire. One Soldier was killed in the attack. No one else was injured.

Earlier this week, units from the same battalion helped capture suspected insurgents,
uncovered illegal arms and munitions and conducted a medical assistance operation
for the local population.

The deceased Soldier’s name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
