80 unidentified bodies buried in Karbalaa
80 unidentified bodies buried in Karbalaa
By Ali al-Nashi

Karbalaa, Jan 15, (VOI) – Eighty unidentified bodies were buried in the Iraqi Shiite-sacred city of Karbalaa’s cemetery after they were brought from the forensic medicine department in Baghdad, an official source in Karbalaa said on Monday.

"The bodies were buried in the al-Wadi al-Jadid cemetery, south of Karbalaa, after none of the bodies were identified by relatives in the forensic department's morgue in Baghdad," a source told the independent news agency Voices of Iraq (VOI).

The source said the bodies were tagged and photographed to make it easy for possible relatives to identify them in the future.

The latest batch rise to more than 1,892 the number of unidentified bodies buried in al-Wadi al-Jadid cemetery in Karbalaa since June 2006.

Scores of unidentified bodies are frequently found dumped in different parts of Baghdad as violence and sectarian tensions escalate in Iraq

3. If only the neocons didn't think Sun Tzu just justified their deceit.

I don't think he would have approved of their strategery. Here's another gem for Sun Tzu:

(On offensive strategy)

31. Therefore I say: 'Know the enemy and know yourself; in a hundred battles you will never be in peril.

32. When you are ignorant of the enemy but know yourself, your chances of winning or losing are equal.

33. If ignorant both of your enemy and of yourself, you are certain in every battle to be in peril.'

I've long suggested, as Bush requested we put forth our plans, that we spend some time learning about how we got into Iraq.

Here's another suggestion contained in the Dispositions:

15. Those skilled in war cultivate the Tao and preserve the laws and are therefore able to formulate victorious policies.

Tu Mu commentary: The Tao is the way of humanity and justice; 'laws'are regulations and institutions. those who excel in war first cultivate their own humanity and justice and maintain their laws and institutions. By these means they make their governments invincible.

I'm no expert, but I'm thinking this lets out Gitmo...

4. there's also multiple sections on strategy
that the baathists have just basically put into action & thwarted our plans.

attacking collaborators to isolate your enemy comes most readily to mind.

5. Lots of great stuff. This from the section on waging war
3. Victory is the main object in war. (Of course this is pre-contractor thinking here. It might be that making money is now the main object) If this is long delayed, weapons are blunted and morale depressed. When troops attack cities, their strength will be exhausted.

4.When the army engages in protracted campaigns the resources of the state will not suffice.

5. When your weapons are dulled and ardour damped, your strength exhausted and treasure spent, neighboring rulers will take advantage of your distress to act. And even though you have wise counsellors, none will be able to lay good plans for the future.

7. For there has never been a protracted war from which a country has benefited.

Hmmph, not only protracted but permanent. Of, by, and for.

7. The military people have read and comprehended
They tried to warn commander coconuts, but alas.... Unfortunately the administration just read the cliff notes, and the only thing they wanted it for was to justify deception.

Only a BFA, uh? Now, if you were a horse show judge, you'd be in charge of picking targets in Iran. I hope we can make it to '09, but I like your ticket.
