U.S. sailor died in 'non-combat related incident' in southern Iraq
BAGHDAD (CNN) -- An American sailor died on Wednesday in southern Iraq in a "non-combat related incident," the U.S. military said on Thursday.

The sailor was "assigned to 16th Military Police Brigade, Camp Bucca." Camp Bucca is a detention facility.

The number of U.S. military personnel who have died in the Iraq war stands at 3,027. There have been 23 deaths in January.

2. Could have been anything
When I was active duty deployed to Saudi Arabia, we lost two in a car wreck. Another guy was at a party on a rooftop in Bahrain and fell. Just like in civilian life, the strangest accidents can happen. I hope it's not a suicide though.
